Why do people love the 1950s, even though they’re ugly?
It’s an age-old question, but some people are happy with the 1950’s interior design design.
It’s a decade before we were even allowed to own a television, yet people still like the look of 1950s-era furnishings.
In fact, a recent study found that people prefer modern design over the more old-fashioned styles.
The results showed that older people are much more satisfied with their homes than younger people, according to a report published in the Journal of Consumer Research.
“We think that the old-style, and the 1950-era design, are so appealing to us because they reflect our modern world,” said Dr. Rajendra Gopalan, a clinical psychologist who led the study.
Gopalan was inspired by a recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Center and found that nearly a quarter of respondents described themselves as fans of the 1960s-style furnishings they saw on television.
The 1960s furniture also came with some new designs, like the futuristic furniture and the sleek interior design of the 1940s.
The report, titled “1950s Interior Design: Attitudes, Preferences and Attitudes of Older Adults,” looked at more than 2,500 adults from across the United States.
It asked respondents to rate each of the designs on a scale of 1 to 10, from least to most popular, and then rated each one for their overall satisfaction.
People are more likely to find comfort in the modern designs, as opposed to the retro-style designs, the report found.
A typical respondent would rate a home with a modern design, such as the TV, as a 6 out of 10, while a typical respondent with a retro-styled design would rate it a 7 out of 9.
“I like the modern, modern design,” said T.R. Bhanav, a 60-year-old who works as a cashier at a gas station in the U.S. city of Dallas.
Bhanav says he likes the simplicity of the 1950 house, and finds the interior design appealing.
“It’s a modern, minimalist look, and I like it.
It looks nice, I like the colors, I feel safe, and it’s just a clean, clean home,” he said.
He said the 1950 home was a home that he liked because it had an old-time feel to it.
“The color of the furniture is pretty cool, it’s bright, it has lots of space,” he told ABC News.
“I like that there’s a lot of space.
I like a lot about it.
And I like how it has a modern feel to the house.”
