How to design a stunning living room inside the church
In the wake of the tragic shooting at the historic First Baptist Church in Charleston, South Carolina, church leaders have struggled to come up with a way to memorialize the victims.
The church has since faced some backlash from people on social media for the way it has used the historic church as a backdrop to its interior design.
The church also has a unique interior design style that was inspired by a real-life mansion, The Charleston Gazette reported.
A large wall of stained glass was installed to honor the victims, and the church’s pastor, Rev. Al Sharpton, used the church as his own personal museum.
Sharpton said the church would have been a beautiful place to worship if the shooting had happened in another state.

There’s a tremendous connection between our churches and the churches in Charleston,” Sharpton said.
“It’s something that I have never experienced in my life before and it’s something I’m really grateful for, because I think it makes us all more connected.”
The shooting, which took place at the church just outside of Charleston, left nine dead and 17 wounded.
It took a while for the Charleston City Council to approve a $20 million plan to reconstruct the historic building.
The building’s owners, the Charleston Historic Preservation Commission, were in negotiations with the city over the project.
They were also trying to figure out how to pay for it.
The council ultimately approved the plan, which is currently being tested in the church.
It’s unclear how the church plans to honor its victims and the nine victims that died.
